“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be?…”

If you’re looking for a therapist who truly sees you and makes you feel heard, supported, and understood, this space is for you.

My journey to becoming a counselor started when I noticed the deep gaps in mental health resources within the Black community. Seeing how racial inequalities made it harder for people of color to access the support they needed, I felt called to be part of the change. That passion led me to working with individuals navigating various mental health concerns, particularly those from marginalized, underserved communities who are often overlooked in this space.

My approach blends various modalities, helping individuals to process the past, understand deep-rooted patterns, and build the coping skills needed for lasting change.

When I’m not in session, you can usually find me curled up with my Kindle and a cup of chai, planning my next travel adventure, or hanging out with my very opinionated dog, Gryffindor.

Therapy with me is warm, real, direct, and a little bit of humor is always welcome. If you’re ready to start this journey, I’d love to meet you.

Treatment Approach

Therapy with me is a collaborative process where we explore the impact of your past on your present, uncover what’s been keeping you stuck, and build the tools you need to move forward. Using a blend of various therapeutic modalities, we’ll approach healing from multiple angles.

With EMDR, we’ll process painful memories that may still be shaping how you see yourself and the world, helping you reprocess past experiences so they no longer hold the same emotional weight. Psychodynamic therapy allows us to explore the deeper patterns and beliefs that have developed over time, making connections between past experiences and present struggles. With Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), we’ll focus on building concrete coping skills, helping you practice mindfulness, regulate emotions, tolerate distress, and navigate relationships more effectively. Additionally, I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques into my treatment approach and am trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for treating PTSD and trauma.

Together, we’ll work toward breaking free from old cycles, strengthening your sense of self, and moving toward the life you want.
